Today, Leeds LOC came in to talk about the LOC and the structure of the LOC network around the UK. They stressed the importance of the work the LOC does in the community, from working with the NHS and local practitioners to better the care provided to patients. The LOC speakers also talked about local issues in optometry including the future of services provided by practitioners, GOS sight test and the changes made to the structure of the NHS. Overall, the talk was very much enjoyed by all those who attended.
This week BOOSA invited ABDO (Association of British Dispensing Opticians) president Peter Black into talk to members about the Dispensing profession and the Optical profession as a whole. Reminding members of the importance of having Dispensing Opticians in practice, Peter Black explained the role of Dispensing Opticians as well as expressed his opinion on the future of Optics in the UK. The talk was well received by members and was most helpful in helping members to further their dispensing knowledge. Vision Express came in today!
