Our History
BOOSA (Bradford Ophthalmic Optics Student Association) is a student-led society specifically aimed at Students of Optometry and Ophthalmic Dispensing. However, we openly welcome anyone with an interest in the world of optics. It is the largest of the nine OPSOCs in the UK and is continually growing.
BOOSA was formed by staff at the University of Bradford's School of Optometry and Vision Sciences. The society was created as a forum for students of Optometry and more recently also for Ophthalmic Dispensing students.
Since its formation in 1980, BOOSA has made and continues to make strong links with some of the largest optical companies and organisations in the UK and around the world. BOOSA also actively engages in both conversation and competition with other OPSOCs around the country.
